During my undergraduate (Carnegie Mellon) and graduate studies (Ohio University) I majored in painting but spent as much time and energy in the print shop working with traditional printmaking techniques -stone lithography, intaglio, screen printing- to create limited editions.
I'm a precisionist and I love to draw. The intricacies and vagaries of printmaking processes were fascinating to me. I became fully fluent in creating traditional prints; I worked for many years with a series of master printers to produce limited editions of my work.
In time, I decided to transfer my knowledge of using traditional printmaking techniques (and above all, my sensibilities) to create images in my computer, to be printed digitally. The editions below were created by scanning and manipulating dozens of drawings to create images with the complexity and nuances of a classically made print.
